Notice on the requirement of entry by foreign nationals holding valid Chinese Residence Permits of three categories

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of passengers, starting from February 26, 2021, all foreign nationals holding valid Chinese Residence Permits for work, personal matters or reunion who will take flights from South Africa to China, are required to contact the Chinese Embassy in Pretoria, or Chinese Consulates General in Durban, Cape Town or Johannesburg to get the confirmation before booking flight tickets and taking the nucleic acid and IgM antibody tests. Neither HDC QR Code application nor boarding will be approved for passengers without the confirmation.

In addition to the above three categories of residence permit holders, the Chinese government announcement on March 26, 2020 about the temporary suspension of the entry of foreigners holding valid Chinese visas and residence permits still apply.
